DBQ: Martin Luther King and Malcolm X - Whose philosophy made the most sense for America in the 1960s?

This DBQ has 6 parts - they will all be turned in at the same time.  If you'd like to start working on it outside of class time, here are the links you will need:

1. Hook Exercise - Answer on paper or you may also answer the questions on this website:

2. Background Essay and Background Essay Questions
3. Documents and Document Analysis Questions 
4. Bucketing and Chickenfoot (violence must be one your body paragraphs)
5. Outline
6. Essay - you must use at least 10 documents in your final essay and violence MUST be one of your body paragraphs.

Rubric for the essay

This work must be turned in no later than Friday, May 20.

Work for the week of April 25 - DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 29

During the week of April 25, we will be taking AIR tests on Monday and Tuesday.

By FRIDAY, APRIL 29, you must complete the following assignments in your American History AIR workbook:

• Chapter 7
• Chapter 8
• Chapter 9
• Chapter 10
• Chapter 11

You also need 5 other chapters, between 10 and 26.  If you did not look at Dashboard data to find your 5 other chapters, here are the chapters you should complete:

• Chapter 12
• Chapter 16
• Chapter 17
• Chapter 20
• Chapter 22

10 CHAPTERS TOTAL ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, APRIL 29.

First Semester Credit Recovery

If you failed first semester, you may recover your credit.  Complete the packet that is given to you in class (and also linked below) using the reading packet (linked below.

Work due the week of April 18

Because of AIR testing, I will not see my classes every day this week.  You have two assignments due by Friday, April 22.

1. 9/11 Terrorist Attacks - Sound Recordings (on Google Classroom)
2. Pro/Con Debate - Environment - you have received the worksheet and click here for the article 

If you would like to turn in any late work that was due from March 14 - April 15, it must be turned in by Friday, April 22.  After that, not more work from the first half of the quarter will be accepted.

Suburbanization

Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14

We are completing our lesson on suburbanization.

• Definitions were found online.
• The chart will be completed using the video from "Little Boxes" and the film clip "A City is Born."
• The readings for the Positive / Negative will be done in class
• Answer the reflections questions on separate paper or on the back.
